I fire the gun and instead of *BANG* I get squeek, bloop, bloop, beep and it continues for the rest of the game or just goes silent (unless I restart DOOM). The music remains fine, it's only the sound effects that get screwed up. I've tried a variety of IRQs (7 and under) and DMAs (including 1) but it doesn't help. I've also tried using EMM386 vs QEMM version 7.03 but that doesn't help either. Has anyone else seen this behavior or have a suggestion? -Morgan ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 05 Mar 1994 20:05:00 -0500 (EST) From: DINESH@Vax2.Concordia.CA Subject: Hallowen harry and gus I tried using Halloweem Harry with the Blaster setting = 220 5 1 1 but when i tried to use their gus driver the computer locks up. So I tried using SBOS 3.7, but then I get no sound. Can anyone help? Thanks. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Mar 94 07:58:10 PST From: "Simeon Ventura" Subject: Re: Just bought a GUS - Thanks To: GUSNNR --INTERNET gus-general-owner@ Thanks for all the good suggestions/comments - they were all correct. The GUS I bought, just last week, was a really wicked deal (less than $130 Canadian funds) - so I just paid and ran. Yes, the GUS was not the latest version - therefore it did not include the composing software. I went back to the re-seller and they, of course, said I got a great deal and I shouldn't be complaining (something along those lines) - they recommended I keep bugging Gravis for updated software. I've sent in my registration card last week and hopefully Gravis will see it in their corporate hearts to send me update disks. Thanks again all. Subject: MTM files MTM files can be played by two methods: 1) Using the Multitrack Editor itself (MMED101.ZIP), or 2) Using DMP. I personally recommend using the actual editor. DMP tends to drop a few notes occasionally especially with larger .MTMs, and in some cases will not play an .MTM correctly at all. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Mar 1994 19:38:26 -0500 (EST) From: Phat H Tran Subject: Noise in line out > Date: Fri, 4 Mar 1994 17:19:59 -0500 (EST) > From: fuller@hlsun.red-cross.org (Desmond Fuller) > Subject: Noise on Output line... > > I've been a happy GUS users for almost 6 monthes now, but since I > updated to the new Window drivers I have had this annoying problem. You are probably using an old version of the mixer with the new drivers. The noise you're hearing is the mic input being left on (the old mixer does not correctly enble/disable inputs and outputs under the new Windows drivers). Copy the new mixer, which should be in the same file you got the new drivers from, over top of your old mixer.
